With its bulthaup b3 concept, introduced in 2004, bulthaup has been setting the standard for kitchens and living spaces - for communicating, cooking and enjoying. Instead of a floor-plan-based kitchen layout, the wall is activated and vitalized and used to the fullest. The kitchen space becomes a living space that can be extended seamlessly into other areas of the home. The b3 multi-functional wall allows furniture to be the first time be freely suspended for the first time, making it functional, ergonomic, design-oriented and floating.

The bulthaup monoblock in laminate is the logical continuation of the minimalist and purist design of bulthaup b3. The seamless laminate body, just like its fore-runner in stainless steel, features flawless, top-quality manufacturing and is planned as an individual piece based on the customer's personal wishes. The dimensions and front materials can be selected to suit, while functions such as the fire and water point can be integrated where they are needed. The monoblock can be planned in line with the architectural conditions, as an island, with or without back panels, as a peninsula or in front of a wall. The homogenously solid core, thick-layer laminate ensures a seamless continuation of the worktops, side panels and back facing. The result is a sculptured monoblock that looks as though it was all made from a single mold.

Starting from the philosophical origins of every living space - the fire and water points, bulthaup has created b2, an open and mobile kitchen that can be added to and composed to suit each individual's personal requirements. The new group of elements is the logical continuation of the kitchen workbench and defines the "kitchen workshop” in its original meaning - comprising a workbench, kitchen tool cabinet and appliance housing cabinet: The workbench for the fire and water point; the kitchen tool cabinet for crockery, cooking utensils, as well as spices and food and the appliance housing cabinet for the oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. bulthaup b2 follows the principle of "clearing away anything superfluous”. All that remains is value - the best materials, the best tools, the best raw ingredients and the best crockery.

The design was developed in collaboration with the renowned design firm EOOS in Vienna. With their method of "poetical analysis”, the designers take a very special approach to the development of new products. Formative factors of image, ritual and received wisdom are brought together and synthesized.
