High-gloss acrylic
High-gloss acrylic surfaces offer you a shimmering look with high gloss and depth of color that you can enjoy for many years to come with the right care and maintenance.
A soft cloth is the best care utensil for high-gloss acrylic surfaces. Use it with a 1% soap solution to clean the surface of dirt and grease marks. Then rinse with clear water and dry the surface with a chamois leather or a dry, soft cloth.
For long-lasting shine, we recommend that you apply a regular coat of "Ultra Gloss” polish from bulthaup. The product must be shaken well before use and distributed over the surface with a polishing sponge. Ensure that you apply an even, thin film of the polish over the surface. Wipe it off after around 30 minutes with a microfiber cloth - and there you have it! Your high-glass acrylic surface will radiate with new shine once more.
As they leave the factory, all bulthaup high-gloss acrylic surfaces are treated with a protective compound. To maintain this protective layer, you should never use scouring agents or products containing alcohol, such as glass cleaner or methylated spirits. Cellulose thinner or trichloroethylene can also damage the material and leave behind unwanted streak marks.
You should also avoid furniture polish or "Tisch-Finish 2”, a care agent for solid wood worktops, since these form an unattractive film on the surface of the worktop and are therefore not suitable for this type of material.
Here's another handy hint: Whenever you're cleaning and maintaining your worktop, ensure that the room is adequately ventilated.
