Our first choice for all work boards is wood. Not only is wood naturally beautiful, it has a very special feel too. But more importantly, the tannins in the wood have an antibacterial effect, making the material totally food-friendly. All of the cutting, chopping and pasta boards are therefore made from solid steamed maple or solid beech. The cutting boards - with the exception of the bread-cutting board - are oiled in order to make their surfaces resistant to all of the stresses of everyday use.
Carefully-thought-out details increase the value of every work board. Crumbs, for example, fall through the slatts of the bread-cutting board into a wooden container. The pasta board rests securely in place while the pasta dough is being kneaded, since it comes with fixing grips and stop edges. Metal handles make handling the cutting boards easier. On the other hand, the solid chopping board - thanks to grips on its underside and its weight - is the epitome of reliable stability.
