Love your laminate
Laminate is a multi-layered, duroplastic synthetic that is now virtually indispensable in kitchens. Since the 1950s and 60s, this material has been revolutionizing our kitchen, giving each one a truly individual character. And to ensure that your kitchen keeps its shine, laminate needs a special type of cleaning.
Cleaning must be adapted to the amount of dirt present. If the surfaces are only slightly dirty, then all you need to do is wipe them over with a soft, damp cloth and then rub dry. A soft nylon brush and a mixture of water and household cleaner can be used for dirtier surfaces. Glue, ink, felt pen etc. on your laminate surface? No problem! Diluted spirit or benzine can help remove stubborn stains.
Do you have hard water, leaving unpleasant limescale marks? If so, then you can rely on tried-and-tested cleaners such as vinegar or vinegar extract. They can help keep your laminate as shiny as it was the day you bought it. For professional cleaning of your kitchen, finish with a final treatment of mild household cleaner. And of course, rub it dry!
Be careful!
Not every cleaning agent is suitable for laminate surfaces. Please do not use any solutions containing nitrogen or trichloroethylene, since these can cause streak marks. This also goes for furniture polish or "Tisch-Finish 2” (a cleaning product for solid wood worktops). The surface will lose its shine due to the build-up of an unpleasant film. Cleaning agents with abrasive content must never be used when cleaning your laminate surfaces.
So you see, laminate is relatively easy to keep clean. And that's a good thing. After all - kitchens are for cooking and enjoying in, not cleaning!
